Studland Bay, Dorset Walk

The 2007 Autumn walk along the magnificent beach at Studland Bay made for a perfect basset walk - no restrictions, fresh air and sea views. Ideal for owners and their hounds to renew acquaintances and to make new friends.

This year the weather was not too promising and it had begun to drizzle as people started to arrive but the hardy Basset folk waited for it to pass, which it did and then even the sun made an appearance.

There was a good turn out of walkers, including some with Beagles, which were allowed to be honorary Bassets for the day.

The obligatory "group pose" photograph was taken before we started off and shows the apparent disinterest in the camera from the bassets but a couple of beagles that wanted to be stars. Our bassets should have taken more interest, as it turned out that the beagles took great delight in being able to outrun the bassets along the sand!

Thanks to all who turned out to make it an enjoyable walk.
