Basset Hound Health Survey 2011
Can you help us?
The Basset Hound has been the subject of various areas of research and health studies, some for more than 20 years.
Areas of most common topics are skin, bloat (GDV) and eye testing for closed angle glaucoma. This work is being carried out to ensure that we continue to have a fit and healthy Breed.
All of the Basset Hound Breed Clubs within the UK have their own Breed Health Representatives and as part of the remit from the Kennel Club, a number of actions require to be undertaken. One of these is a Breed Specific Heath Survey. It is a few years since the last UK survey was undertaken and it is our intention to repeat these surveys on a more regular basis to provide us with an ongoing picture of health in the breed. This will let us see how the breed’s health is improving and also highlight any areas of interest which may require further investigation.
All of the Breed Clubs in the UK are participating in the latest survey.
Please click HERE to take you to Breed Health / Health Survey 2011 and then download the form and follow the instructions for completion and return.
